6-OXO™ contains a naturally occurring aromatase inhibitor that is devoid of any direct hormonal or prohormonal activity (androgenic or estrogenic). It is what science refers to as a "suicide inhibitor" of aromatase. Specifically this means that it will irreversibly bind to the aromatase enzyme and permanently deactivate it. Can Women take 6-OXO?
No, 6-OXO is not designed for women. It is strongly recommended that women not take 6-OXO.
Will 6-OXO help treat pre-existing gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is an estrogen dependent benign growth of the breast tissue, so it follows that any substance that controls the formation of estrogen can help minimize the progression and the severity of the disorder. No estrogen inhibiting or blocking supplement or drug can actually get rid of gynecomastia completely once it has formed however. To completely get rid of gynecomastia requires an operation by a plastic surgeon.
What are the effects of 6-OXO on sperm count?
If sperm count is low due to lack of gonadotropins (FSH especially) then it can raise it.
Why should I take 6-OXO at night?
6-OXO should be taken at night because that is when endogenous estrogen production is maximized. An alternate way to take 6-OXO is to split your dosage into morning and nighttime doses. It should always be taken with meals however.
How long should I take 6-OXO?
6-OXO should be taken at least 2 weeks for testosterone production to be stimulated fully. Total cycle length can be anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks if you are taking it to recover from a cycle of prohormones or active hormones. The general rule is, the longer you are on your cycle and the stronger the hormonal product you are taking is, the longer you should take 6-OXO afterwards.
How should I take 6-OXO if I am coming off of a prohormone cycle?
You should start the 6-OXO immediately after completion a hormone cycle. For the first week, take 600mg a day, and then reduce the dose to 400mg a day the next week, followed by 200mg the final week. You may alter the length of time you take the 6-OXO if you wish, depending on how much suppression you feel you have experienced during your cycle, but keep the same general scheme of starting at the high dose and tapering down.
If I am taking 6-OXO on its own as a natural testosterone booster, then how long should I take it for and how much should I take?
6-OXO is often taken as a means to stimulate natural production of testosterone in non-prohormone users. Taken in this regard, longer cycles are recommended. Cycle lengths of 6 to 12 weeks are best. The amount of 6-OXO to be taken daily can vary from 3-6 caps, however during the first 2 weeks of the cycle it is highly recommended that the full 6 caps a day dose be taken.
Is there a rebound increase in estrogen production after taking 6-OXO?
There is no indication that estrogen rebounds significantly after taking 6-OXO. Studies done on similar aromatase inhibitors have shown that hormone levels normalize back to baseline levels, and that no over-compensation occurs.
Can I take 6-OXO along with other prohormones?
Yes, you may use 6-OXO during a prohormone cycle to help control estrogen formation and to help minimize shutdown of the hypothalamic pituitary testicular axis (HPTA). This is especially beneficial if you are taking a prohormone that either aromatizes directly (androstenedione) or can convert to a hormone that aromatizes (4-androstenediol, 19-nor-4-androstenediol). In the case of non aromatizing prohormones like 1-AD, the concomitant use of 6-OXO is not as necessary since estrogen formation is not an issue. For use during a cycle, a daily dose of 300-600mg is recommended.
Have there been any clinical studies done on 6-OXO?
Yes. A recently completed clinical study was done by Thomas Incledon at Human Performance Specialists Inc. The study was done on 7 men with normal endocrinological profiles. 600mg of 6-OXO was administered daily over the course of 3 weeks. At the end of the three weeks, the testosterone levels of the men roughly doubled, while estradiol dropped slightly. Consequently, there was a very large rise in the testosterone / estradiol ratio, which is the most important variable. There was no evidence of liver toxicity, adverse blood lipid changes, or any other safety concerns. The full data is awaiting peer review and publication.
